One Championship has announced a lightweight contest for their upcoming event dubbed “Throne of Tigers.” Ev Ting will return to action against Kamal Shalorus on the card, which takes place Feb. 10 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ting is currently riding a three-fight winning streak that dates back to 2015. During the run, he has defeated Honorio Banario, Eric Kelly and Robert Lista. The Malaysian fighter has been competing exclusively for One Championship since joining the promotion in 2014, and he has gone 6-1 in the company.
Shalorus has been out of action since falling to Shinya Aoki back in 2014. The Iranian joined One Championship in 2013 and won his first two bouts over Eduard Folayang and Ariel Sexton before running into Aoki. Shalorus went 3-0-1 for the WEC between 2009-2010. However, after moving to the UFC in 2011, he dropped three-straight bouts against Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael dos Anjos before receiving his release from the company.
Ting-Shalorus will serve as the main event of One Championship “Throne of Tigers.” The announcement of additional bouts is expected over the next few weeks.
