UFC welterweight Erick Silva

The UFC has added a welterweight contest between Erick Silva and Yancy Medeiros to the upcoming UFC 212 event. The card takes place June 3 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Silva got back on the winning track last September when he defeated Luan Chagas on the undercard of UFC Fight Night 95. Prior to that, he had dropped back-to-back fights against Nordine Taleb and Neil Magny. Silva joined the UFC in 2011 and has gone 7-6 with signature victories over Josh Koscheck and Jason High.

Medeiros has been fighting in the UFC since 2013. In the Octagon, he has gone 4-4 with victories coming over Damon Jackson, Joe Proctor John Makdessi and Sean Spencer.

In the main event of UFC 212, featherweight champion Jose Aldo will defend his title against interim champion Max Holloway. Also on the main card, former middleweight champion Anderson Silva takes on Kelvin Gastelum.
