According to a report from FloCombat.com, the UFC is working towards a middleweight contest between Elias Theodorou and Brad Tavares. The bout is expected to be part of The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale, which takes place July 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Theodorou joined the UFC after winning “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations.” Since the show, he has gone 4-1 in the Octagon. He will enter the cage in July following back-to-back wins over Sam Alvey and Cezar Ferreira. The Canadian currently holds a 13-1 record as a professional.
Tavares has been competing exclusively inside the Octagon since joining the UFC in 2010. He won seven of his first eight bouts before falling to Yoel Romero at UFC on Fox 11. Since that loss, he has gone only 2-2 in the UFC. In his last bout, he got back on the winning track with a split-decision victory over Caio Magalhaes.
The TUF 25 Finale will feature the finals of the reality show competition. The show features a 14-person welterweight tournament. The field is composed to fighters who have previously competed in the UFC including James Kause, Jesse Taylor and Joe Stevenson.
