A welterweight showdown between Drew Dober (18-8) and Frank Camacho (21-5) has been added to the UFC on Fox 27 card taking place at the end of the month. Camacho announced news of the bout on social media on Friday.
UFC on Fox 27 will take place Jan. 27 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. Middleweight contenders Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Derek Brunson will meet in the main event.
Dober has been competing at lightweight in recent years and is coming off a first-round KO victory over veteran Josh Burkman at UFC 214 last July. Prior to that he had a two-fight winning streak snapped by Olivier Aubin-Mercier via submission in Dec. 2016.
A former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter season 15, Dober holds an overall record of 4-4 inside the octagon. The 29-year-old Elevation Fight Team product has also posted wins over Jason Gonzalez, Scott Holtzman and Jamie Varner during his time with the UFC.
Camacho is coming off a split decision victory over Damien Brown at UFC Fight Night 121 in November. Before that, in his UFC debut last June, “The Crank” dropped a unanimous decision to Jingliang Li at UFC Fight Night 111.
Camacho had been competing on the regional circuit around Guam and his native Northern Mariana Islands before signing with the UFC last year. The 28-year-old is a former Pacific Xtreme Combat lightweight titleholder and was also a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter season 16 back in 2012.
