Demian Maia will return to action against Colby Covington. The bout has been officially added to UFC Fight Night 119, which takes place Oct. 28 at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Maia will fight for the first time since coming up short in his bid for the UFC welterweight title. He challenge Tyron Woodley for the belt at UFC 214, but he failed to implement his ground game and dropped a decision. Prior to that defeat, Maia had won seven-straight fights including victories over Neil Magny, Matt Brown and former WEC champion Carlos Condit.
Covington joined the UFC in 2014 after building a 5-0 record on the independent circuit. He won her first three bouts in the promotion over Anying Wang, Wagner Silva and Mike Pyle before running into Warlley Alves. At UFC 194, he fought Alves in a battle of prospects and lost via submission. However, since that defeat, Covington has bounced back nicely with a four-fight winning streak. In his last fight, he picked up his biggest victory to date as he defeated Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 111.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 119, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will take on Derek Brunson in a middleweight fight.
