DEEP is going to host a 16-man tournament to decide who will challenge Daisuke Nakamura for the DEEP lightweight title.
The tourney will begin on March 10th at Shinjuku FACE, and the bracket will be determined by a drawing, which will be held in front of the fans at DEEP 61 show.
On Thursday, DEEP revealed all 16 fighters for this tournament including veterans like Hidehiko Hasegawa, Juri Ohara and good looking undefeated up and comers like Kanho Ryu and Yuta Kaneko.
This tournament will take place over the next four shows and either end of this year or the beginning of next year, the tournament winner is going to challenge Nakamura.
Well, however, this doesn't mean Nakamura won't be defending the title till then, therefore, the accurate way to describe this situation is, the winner of this tournament will get to fight for the DEEP 155 lbs title sometime this year or early next year.
