Per a report from the Detroit Free Press, lightweights David Teymur and Drakkar Klose will face off at UFC 218. The event takes place Dec. 2 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Teymur joined the UFC after competing on the 22nd season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” On the show, he won a pair of exhibition fights over Thibault Gouti and Johnny Nunez before falling against Marcin Wrzosek in the quarterfinals. Since making his debut, Teymur has built a 3-0 record in the Octagon with wins over Martin Svensson, Jason Novelli and Lando Vannata.
Klose signed with the UFC earlier this year and has already picked up a pair of victories. In his debut, he took home a decision victory over Devin Powell. He then scored an upset victory over fellow prospect Marc Diakiese at the TUF 25 Finale. The wins pushed Klose’s professional record to 8-0-1.
Although the bout has not been confirmed by the promotion, many expect a featherweight title fight between champion Max Holloway and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar to headline UFC 218. The UFC has confirmed a heavyweight contest between Alistair Overeem and Francis N’Gannou for the card.
