The UFC has confirmed the report featherweight contest between Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega. The bout will main event the upcoming UFC Fight Night 123 card, which takes place Dec. 9 at the SaveMart Center in Fresno, Calif.
Swanson is currently riding a four-fight winning streak that dates back to 2016. During the run, he has scored victories over Hacran Dias, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Doo Ho Choi and Artem Lobov. Swanson joined the UFC as part of the WEC merger in 2011. In the promotion, he has also scored victories over the likes of Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier and Jeremy Stephens.
Ortega made his UFC debut in 2014, and he is still undefeated in his career. He is currently riding a streak of four-straight third rounds finishes. In his last fight, he scored a third-round submission over Renato Carneiro at UFC 214. It was his sixth victory via submission in 12 professional fights.
The main card of UFC Fight Night 123 will also feature a women’s bantamweight contest between former title challengers Alexis Davis and Liz Carmouche. Also on the card, bantamweight Bryan Caraway returns to action against Luke Sanders.
