Chris Camozzi gets new opponent for UFC Fight Night 109

UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi

Middleweight veteran Chris Camozzi has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 109. His original adversary Magnus Cedenblad has withdrawn, and the promotion has tabbed Trevor Smith for the event. The card takes place May 28 at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.

Camozzi returned to the UFC in 2015 after a two-fight absence. He lost his return fight against former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza but then won three fights in a row over Tom Watson, Joe Riggs and Vitor Miranda. Since defeating Miranda last May, Camozzi has lost back-to-back fights against Thales Leites and Dan Kelly.

Smith joined the UFC following the Strikeforce merger in 2013. He has gone 4-4 in the promotion. In his last fight, he failed to pick up his third win in a row and lost to Andrew Sanchez. Prior to that loss, Smith had won back-to-back fights over Dan Miller and Joe Gigliotti.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 109, light heavyweight contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira will fight.
