Charlie Ward to make his Bellator debut against John Redmond
Bellator has confirmed a middleweight match between Charlie Ward and John Redmond. The fight will be part of Bellator 187 preliminary card, which takes place Nov. 10 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
Ward will return to the cage for the first time since dropping a pair of fights and receiving his walking papers from the UFC. He made his UFC debut against Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Fight Night 99 and lost via first-round knockout. Ward returned at UFC Fight Night 113 and failed to finish the second round against Galore Bofando. Following the losses, Ward’s professional record currently sits at 3-3.
Redmond is an Irish fighter who has spent the majority of his career in his native country and the United Kingdom. He holds a 7-12 record as a professional, but he has won two of his last three bouts. In his last fight, he lost via first-round submission against Lee Barnes under the Cage Warriors banner.
In the main event of Bellator 187, prospect James Gallagher will take on Jeremiah Labiano in a featherweight fight.
