A bantamweight matchup between Brett Johns (14-0) and former title challenger Joe Soto (18-5) has been added to December’s TUF 26 Finale card. UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday.
TUF 26 Finale will be held Dec. 1 from Park Theatre in Las Vegas. The event will feature the final of The Ultimate Fighter season 26 women’s flyweight tournament and decide the division’s inaugural champion. TUF 26 Finale will broadcast live on FS1 with early prelims streaming on UFC Fight Pass.
Johns is a former Cage Warriors and Titan FC Bantamweight Champion and remains unbeaten in his pro career. The 25-year-old Welsh fighter made his octagon debut last November with a unanimous decision win over Kwan Ho Kwak at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast.
Johns most recently competed in July winning a unanimous decision over Albert Moraes at UFC Fight Night 113 in Glasgow. “The Pikey” has finished four of his 14 career wins via submission and two by knockout.
Soto will be looking to add on to his current three-fight winning streak following a unanimous decision victory over Rani Yahya at UFC Fight Night 106 in March. Prior to that the former Bellator featherweight Champion scored a heel-hook submission win over Marco Beltran last November and a submission win over Chris Beal in June of last year.
Soto is now 3-3 inside the octagon. The 30-year-old BJJ black belt made his UFC debut in a Bantamweight Championship title match against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 177 in Aug. 2014 but was stopped in the final round. Soto has finished 10 of his 16 career wins by submission and five by knockout.
