Bellator signs bantamweight prospect Leandro Higo
According to a report from MMAFighting, Bellator MMA has signed Legacy Fighting Alliance bantamweight champion Leandro Higo.
Higo holds a 17-2 record as a professional and is currently riding an eight-fighting winning streak that dates back to 2012. In his last fight, he defeated Steven Peterson to become the inaugural Legacy Fighting Alliance bantamweight champion. In his prior fight, Higo defeated Joey Miolla to become the Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion.
In 2015, Higo competed on the fourth season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.” In the first round, he scored a submission victory over Maycon Silva. However, he then fell to Bruno Mesquita and was eliminated from the competition.
Higo trains with former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire and his brother Bellator veteran Patricky Freire at the Pitbull Brothers team.
The Bellator bantamweight division includes several top fighters including current champion Eduardo Dantas, Darrion Caldwell, Joe Warren, Joe Taimanglo and Marcos Galvao.
