Aung La N Sang to challenge Vitaly Bigdash for One Championship middleweight title

One Championship middleweight Aung La N Sang

An injury has forced Marcin Prachnio out of his upcoming title challenge against One Championship middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash. Now, Aung La N Sang will step into the bout and fight for the title in the main event of One Championship 51, which takes place Jan. 14 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Sang joined One Championship in 2014 and has gone undefeated for the promotion. He is currently riding a four-fight winning streak composed of victories over Mahmoud Salama, Mohamed Ali, Alexey Butorin and Michal Pasternak.

Bigdash has been out of action since claiming the One Championship middleweight title over Igor Svirid in 2015. The bout was widely considered one of the best of that year. The champion was set to defend his belt against Butorin last May, but he was forced out of that bout with an injury. The Russian fighter holds an undefeated 8-0 record as a professional.

This bout will serve as the main event of One Championship 51. The card also features the return of Dream veteran Kazunori Yokota who faces Martin Nguyen.
