The UFC has announced that Artem Lobov will return to action against Andre Fili. the bout will be part of the main card of UFC Fight Night 118, which takes place Oct. 21 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.
Lobov is looking to get back on track after dropping a decision against Cub Swanson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108. “The Russian Hammer” had won his previous two fights against Teruto Ishihara and Chris Avila after beginning his UFC career with back-to-back losses. Lobov joined the UFC in 2015 after competing on the 22nd season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” After the show, he dropped a pair of bouts against Ryan Hall and Alex White.
Last October, Fili picked up one of the biggest wins of his career when he upset Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 96. However, he could not keep the momentum going when he returned to the cage this year. Fili was on the other end of the upset this time as he came in as a -350 favorite against Calvin Kattar and dropped a one-sided decision. Fili has been competing in the UFC since 2013. He also holds UFC wins over Jeremy Larsen, Felipe Arantes and Gabriel Benitez.
The main event for UFC Fight Night 118 is yet to be announced. The main card will also feature former KSW light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz taking on Devin Clark.
