The UFC has scheduled a light heavyweight contest featuring Antonio Rogerio Nogueira taking on Ilir Latifi. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 112, which takes place June 25 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
Nogueira has lost five of his last eight bouts. In his last fight, he fell via third-round knockout against Ryan Bader. Nogueira’s only wins during the stretch came against Patrick Cummins and former champions Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans. Nogueira compete extensively in Pride FC from 2002-2007. During his run in that company, he defeated the likes of Alistair Overeem, Dan Henderson and Kazushi Sakuraba.
Latifi is also coming off a loss against Bader. Prior to that, he had won three-straight fights over Hans Stringer, Sean O’Connell and Gian Villante. Latifi joined the UFC in 2013 and has built a 5-3 record in the promotion.
The main event of UFC Fight Night 112 is currently unannounced. However, the card does include a pair of former champions. Former lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn will return to action against Dennis Siver at featherweight. Former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks takes on Tim Boetsch in a middleweight fight.
