Alex Caceres welcomes China’s Guan Wang to the UFC featherweight division
A featherweight matchup between Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres (12-10, 1 NC) and promotional newcomer Guan “The Dongbei Tiger” Wang (17-1-1) has been added to UFC Fight Night 111. UFC officials announced the bout on Thursday.
UFC Fight Night 111 will be held June 17 from Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. A main event for the card has not yet been determined though the entire fight card is set to stream live on UFC Fight Pass.
Caceres is 2-2 since making the return to featherweight last year. Following a January 2016 win over Masio Fullen, Caceres won a decision over Cole Miller at UFC 199 last June. Currently “Bruce Leeroy” is on a two-fight skid. The 28-year-old MMA Lab product dropped a decision to Yair Rodriguez last August, then most recently suffered a submission loss to Jason Knight at UFC on Fox 23 in January.
Wang is a 31-year-old fighter out of Beijing, China. “The Dongbei Tiger” is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, most recently knocking out Ghassan Muhareb at Glory of Heroes 6 in January. Wang has competed mainly in his home country of China, though he did travel to London for a March 2015 win over Josh Palmer at KTMMA 3. Wang has 11 knockout wins to his credit and three submission wins, though all three submissions were due to punches.
