2015 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships gold medalist Rodolfo Vieira has announced that he will join American Top Team and pursue an MMA career. The Brazilian made the announcement via an interview with Tatame.

Vieira told the magazine, “I will go to Florida and join American Top Team full time. I have only heard good things about Dan Lambert and ATT. The reason why I chose ATT is because I know I will have all the support and tools I need to accomplish my goals. I’m very excited to begin this new chapter of my life. I will dedicate all my time and energy to be an MMA champion too.”

At the 2015 ADCC tournament, Vieira defeated Adam Sachnoff, Cassio Francis, Alexandre Ribeiro and Felipe Pena to claim the 99kg gold medal. He returned for the absolute bracket where he defeated former UFC champion Benson Henderson and Rafael Lovato Jr. Vieira fell to Joao Rocha in the seimfinals.

Over the course of his grappling career, Vieira has also picked up victories over the likes of Andre Galvao, Alan Belcher, Braulio Estima and Keenan Cornelius.
