World Series of Fighting has added a welterweight bout to their upcoming WSOF 35 event. Abubakar Nurmagomedov will take on Matt Secor on the card, which takes place March 18 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y.
Nurmagomedov, the brother of UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, holds a 13-1 record as a professional. He joined WSOF in 2015 and has won all four of his bouts for the promotion. In his last bout, he scored a decision victory over UFC veteran John Howard. Nurmagomedov’s only defeated came against Magomed Mustafaev in 2014 in a bout that was stopped due to injury.
Secor has fought for WSOF and Bellator, and he was also a member of the 16th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” In his last fight, he got back on the winning track with a second-round submission victory over Ricardo Funch under the Premier FC banner. In his two-fight WSOF career, he has taken wins over Brett Shoenfelt and Chip Moraza-Pollard.
WSOF 35 will feature three title fights. In the main event, heavyweight champion Blagoi Ivanov will put his belt on the line against Shawn Jordan. In the co-main event, featherweight champion Lance Palmer will defend his title against former Titan FC champion Andre Harrison. Also on the main card, Bekbulat Magomedov will take on Timur Valiev for the vacant bantamweight title.
