Aaron Pico set to return to Bellator against Justin Linn

Bellator featherweight Aaron Pico

Bellator MMA has announced the second MMA bout for prospect Aaron Pico. For his second fight, he will drop down to featherweight and face Justin Linn at Bellator 183. The card takes place Sept. 23 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

Pico made his MMA debut at Bellator NYC and suffered a stunning first-round submission loss against Zach Freeman. The 20-year-old fighter had been described as one of the top prospects in the sport following an extensive wrestling career. In 2016, he finished as a runner up at the U.S. Olympic trials. He is also a cadet (17 and under) world champion and two-time junior (20 and under) world medalist.

Linn holds a 7-3 record as a professional, but he is coming off back-to-back losses. He has not tasted victory since defeating Adrian Cruz under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance banner in 2014. In his last fight, he lost via decision against UFC veteran Cody Gibson for The Warriors Cage promotion.

In the main event of Bellator 183, former UFC and WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson returns to action against Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. Also on the card, Roy Nelson makes his Bellator debut against Javy Ayala.
